random unorganized thoughts

Freaking out here...way too much homework...One class (marketing) is no big deal...Other 2 classes have 2 big projects to do along with the normal work load...Snow Advisory here...tonight had dinner with my co-worker, Kathy, it was her birthday...we ate at Miyako Japanese Steakhouse with her family, fun time, I have never been to a place like that...loved it...Since my mother and I do not talk she doesn't want my 17 & 16 year old sisters hanging out with me...Ashley and I signed up for a crop in March on a weekend that she thought was her Dad's weekend, but it isn't she will be at her mom's, so she is currently waiting for a answer to know if she can go...family can't live with them, can't shoot them, isn't that how the saying goes???I also need to do our taxes, clean the house, organize the scrapbook room...it seemed like a good idea to start the re-organization process, but ran out of time, now it is just a mess...not enough time in the day...can't believe that it is the end of February...have a good week.

Inspiration

I was in a store this weekend and I saw something inspiring. After reading some of the Ali Edwards book, I took the picture. Love the colors.
Thought I would post my QVC order from the big paper crafting day.
Since I am not going to CKU this year, I ordered CKU in a box. I also ordered a box that comes with little clear packages to sort stuff in. I am really happy with this Bling Kit that I got. It has a ton of jewels and rhinestones.

Hope you are having a good week.

Oh, after work today I rolled up the existing rug in the living room and put the new rug down, since Deb was coming over to check it out. After moving the funiture, all I was thinking is I hope she like this because I don't want to switch the rugs back and return one! GOOD NEWS! She loved it!! I can't wait for her to bring the fabric over!

Ice on the Driveway

We went out for dinner with Sean & Mel on Friday...

On Saturday we went to Greektown for a late lunch at Pegasus. We love that place. Then we went to the DIA (Detroit Institute of Arts). I thought it was a yawn fest, but my husband decided to become a member, so we can go more often:(

We picked up our new rug for the living room, just have to have Deb (interior designer) come and approve it. It is funny because AC will make suggestions, and I say well, we will just wait for Deb to approve it. Then drapes & paint!

I am in need of a new camera. I want a Canon. I currently have a Kodak and the lag time after taking a picture is insane!! I can't stand it anymore. I also do not think the Kodak takes that good of photos anymore. I am surprised the prices for a decent digital camera have come down a bunch. Great News!

I ran some errands this morning. The driveway was solid ice. I decided to get the newspaper and literally slid 3/4 to the end of the driveway, swinging my arms and looking like a total dork. I finally got turned around and started walking back up to the garage, fell and got wet, and still did not have the paper. I basically slid right by it and at that point said FORGET IT!

Random Sunday Questions

Your first day at a new school?
The first day of school that I remember was when I started college at Oakland Community College. I was so nervous about going back to school. I did it. I graduated.

Your first job interview? Did you get the job?
10.5 years ago when I started working for the company that I still work for is the first real job interview I had. I lived an hour away from the interview and I found my way there and did a good interview. As soon as I got home, I wrote and mailed a thank you for the interview letter. I was told later that the Thank You letter got me the job:)

Your first house or apartment on your own?
My first apartment that I moved into alone was in 1998. I moved into a one bedroom apartment for $525 per month. My husband and I bought our first home in January 2007, much higher monthly payment:(

Your first taste of sushi?
I have never had sushi, but I have had Seared Ahi Tuna and hated it. I can't get passed the raw texture.

Your first paycheck? Did you buy anything special?
I am sure that I bought clothes.

Books

I haven’t blogged all week. Been busy. Didn’t do much on Monday, Tuesday was sketch club, still haven’t unpacked that. When I do I will post the layout. Tuesday night we got a bunch of snow, about 4 inches. Wednesday I blew snow, getting better at that, it only took 45 minutes and I didn’t have to go over it more than once! I also watched Cashmere Mafia on Wednesday.
Thursday was Valentines Day and my in-laws wanted to take me out for dinner since my husband is working out of town. That was so nice and thoughtful of them. They told me we could go where ever I wanted, we had Thai. They brought me a treat, chocolate covered strawberries! They were asking Aman what they could get and he gave them that idea. Such nice people, it is funny how things work themselves out, sometimes how you least expect it.

Aman got home tonight around 5 pm and we left to meet friends for dinner. We were home by 8:30 and then he left to play poker with his friends. He will be tired tomorrow, but he likes to go.

Now I remember what has been keeping me busy this week, besides homework…I got these in the mail this week…

I really like both books. I will post more about the books after I read more:)

Have a great weekend!

2 Peas Challenge

The 2 Peas Challenge for today - A time I want to experience again...
June 2006 - My wedding and honeymoon in Negril Jamaica. We had a lot of fun and met some cool people. I would love to go back there. We went to the Couples Negril Resort.

Cold!

It is cold here today!
This is what we have to look forward to:

This is how Tiger and Cupcake have been keeping warm...

They love the fireplace!
On Friday we went out to dinner and then stayed home the rest of the evening. On Saturday AC was busy and I made cards with Anita. Then we went to see the Dorner’s on Saturday night. AC had to start work tomorrow morning early, so he had to leave today. I have homework to finish, but I have decided to watch the Grammy's instead. Amy Winehouse has been nominated for 6 and won the first 2 already. She is like the Brittney of the UK, except I like Amy's music. She was unable to get a visa for the Grammy's so she is performing live via satellite from London. I am looking forward to that. This actually let her stay in rehab longer, so not really a bad thing. Brothers and Sisters is also new tonight!

2 Peas Challenge/Snow/Cards/Joke

2 Peas Challenge~ When you attend a class or crop do you feel you do more talking then getting projects done?

My friends are going to laugh, was this question made for me??
I am pretty sure that I talk more than I scrap. I also eat, shop, and get a massage if available. I just love to go and see what everyone is working on, oh and it is nice to get a few pages done too.

SNOW!!

Last Friday we got a few inches of snow. Since we don't have a snow blower, I was shoveling, the wet heavy snow. After 25 minutes I stopped and decided that we needed a snow blower, especially since AC is gone during the week and it is just me to clean snow. Last weekend, I called every Lowes in Michigan (it seemed like it) and of course no snow blower. Yesterday here in Michigan we got freezing rain and 6" of snow. While I was at work looking out at the snow I decided to try Lowes again. They had 1 snow blower!! I asked the nice lady, Pam, to hide it for me. I drove right there and got a snow blower. I got the Troy Bilt Storm 5024.

On my way home from work I stopped to fill my 2.5 gal gas can so I could use the snow blower. First, I could not get the can open to even put the gas in. I went into the gas station and a nice man in there helped me. I filled and left. After a few moments I looked down to see gas coming out of the little vent hole and the cover was not on tight, so it was splashing out of there also. Great smell! I got home and cleaned the mat, thankfully it was a rubber mat. I then decided to check the oil and put the gas in. I specifically remember the manual saying to be careful not to spill the gas...However, that is harder than it looks. Enough said.

I decided to re-read the manual because it occurred to me that I didn't now how to turn the snow blower off. Did a mention that I have never done this before? All ready to snow blow. Got it started and took off. I can not understand why is has 6 speed levels! I could handle 2, but would never try above that. It was snowing hard, so the neighbors really couldn't tell how crooked the paths were or the nice lawn job I gave us. In my mind the snow blower would scrape all the way to the concrete, but only in some spots, because of the ice. Overall, I need practice :)

I work up at 4am and decided to look outside to see how much snow we got, and while looking outside I noticed my neighbor, the one with the amazing yard in the summer, out shoveling!! He is crazy! I couldn't believe it. When I get home today I plan on trying the snow blowing again.

I won the cutest cards ever! My blogging friend Toni sent these to me. She is the best card maker, be sure to check her out.
Here are 2 of the cards she sent...

Jewelry Shop Joke
A lady walks into a high class jewelry shop. She browses around, spots a beautiful diamond bracelet and walks over to inspect it. As she bends over to look more closely she inadvertently breaks wind. Very embarrassed, she looks around nervously to see if anyone has noticedher little accident and prays that a sales person doesn't pop up right now. As she turns around, her worst nightmare materializes in the form of a salesman standing right behind her. Cool as a cucumber and displaying complete professionalism, The salesman greets the lady with, 'Good day, Madam. How may we help you today?' Very uncomfortably, but hoping that the salesman may just not have been there at the time of her little 'accident', she asks, 'Sir, what is the price of this lovely bracelet?' He answers, 'Madam, if you farted just looking at it, you're going to shit when I tell you the price.

Tomorrow is A New Day

2 Peas Tuesday Challenge: I am going to make tomorrow different by...
Letting things go.
Ali says it perfectly
"It is okay"
"Embrace Imperfection."
"Go with the Flow"
"Don't make it more complicated than it needs to be"
"Celebrate Something Everyday"
"Don't sweat the small stuff, and it's all small stuff." - not sure who said this...
I am going to try to be more patient. I am going to let things go...

I took my sisters out for dinner. Then Emily had to go to her first night of driver's training class. Ashley and I went to the mall and walked around a bit. Have a good night.

I really do not have any plans to scrapbook, because I once again have a lot of homework to do. The good news is that Monday begins week 5 of my 11 week classes! I would like to finish organizing in my scrap room, it seems like that is a never ending process. Good thing I enjoy it.
