Trip to Scrapbook Store

Even though I have enough scrapbooking supplies to supply a small community for years, I decided to go to a scrapbook store tonight. The stores send you coupons and they burn a hole in my pocket! On the way to the store a lady ran into my car. It was like bumper cars or something. I was in a left turn lane and she came up on my right side and smashed into my car! I looked to my right and she was even with my car and I saw her. What the hell? How did she not see me? She must not have been paying attention. After I went completely through the turn and the next intersection I turned into the first available parking lot and called the police. As I was talking to them I looked up and saw the woman fly by! She either didn't see me or was executing her escape plan. Needless to say I did not see her again and probably never will. Oh well, that is what insurance is for. Happy Monday:)

Vet Trip & Baby Shower

The weekend is over. Time really flies. WOW it is supposed to be 57 degrees tomorrow in Michigan! I will believe it when I feel it.

Busy weekend, on Friday a bunch of girls got together and we hung out, talked, ate, and watched a movie. Saturday I took my Tiger, to the vet. Tiger is 4 and he needed a couple of shots. The humane society gives a rabies shot that is good for 3 years, the Cat Care Vet that I now go to told me that they do not put the additives in their Rabies shot that the humane does because they lead to cancer, so their shot is only good for 1 year. Anyone ever hear this?

Then they told me that indoor and outdoor cats get heart worm just like dogs. I do not have a dog, but the only chance to cure heart worm is open heart surgery to remove the worms!! Mosquito's bite cats also, which is how they get it. The nurse laid the ground work for the discussion but she "didn't want to scare me." Then when the doctor came in she completed the sale. They also told me that as many indoor cats get heart worm as outside cats! Yikes! I better buy the pills! After a while later at home, AC laughed at me, and we decided that the same number of cats that get HW is probably very low. We also discovered that their sales technique was the same. I have not researched anything about Rabies shots or heart worm in cats, but plan to. Anyone have experience with these things?

Poor Tiger was crying all the way to the vet, it is close thank god! He was panting and had sweaty paws because he was so stressed. Poor kitty!

Saturday evening I went to a baby shower for my co-worker. She is due June 1st and this is her second baby. The shower was really small, with mainly her immediate family and 2 co-workers.
We had big plans for Sunday but were lazy and didn't accomplish much. I decided that I would like to have a life this next semester, so I decided to drop one class, so that I am only taking 2. Who needs the extra stress? Hope you had a good weekend!

You know you're a scrapbooker when...

I actually did a layout today! After work I took a little rest and did the layout while watching The Biggest Loser. I like that show, but man does it drag on and on. A 2 hour show could be done in 45 minutes, but they repeat everything at least twice. One of my friends, can't mention any names - but you know who you are, says that the show makes her feel guilty because she eats ice cream while watching it. I told her I wait until it is over.

Status Update on the School break list...

Taxes - Done!
Cleaning - nothing started
Scrapbooking - went to a crop on Good Friday and did one layout today!
Photoshop - Not started, but there is still time - I really want to learn how to put a bunch of pictures into one picture, like putting 6 little photos into a 5x7 size. I also want to learn how to size the pictures to say 2.5 x 2.5 instead of printing all 4x6.

Got my grades and I got a C+ in one class that I was real nervous about. Anything less than a C, I would have to repeat, so thankfully I did ok. The other 2 I got a B+. 2 of the instructors for my next classes have already posted the syllabuses. I should probably start reading and get ahead start.

Looks like the Mayor of Detroit is finally getting what he deserves... A few of citizen of Detroit were interviewed and they say that his issues are personal and not public...These people are forgetting that he used tax payers money, which makes it a public issue. How embarrassing for our state!

I was going through my old magazines and found this in the February Creating Keepsakes...

You know you're a scrapbooker when...

  • You usually have a camera with you
  • You wonder if you will ever get caught up
  • You have tools your husband doesn't know how to use
  • You know who Lisa, Becky, Ali, Jennifer, and Tim are
  • The clerks in your LSS know you by name
  • Your house is a mess because you have been scrapbooking all day
  • You know what CK, CKU, CKC, HOF, SOY,and KOTM stand for
  • You can spot an Elsie sticker faster than you can say "Louis Vuitton"
  • You check online galleries and blogs more often than you check the news
  • You save the ribbon off Godiva chocolate boxes to use on your pages and cards
  • You know that "Scrapbookers don't lie. We embellish"

Definitely a scrapbooker here. Have a good week!

Happy Easter!

So nice to have extra days off work! On Friday evening I went to a crop with friends. Had a great time and of course I did not finish as much as I would have liked.:) I always talk more than I crop. We got about 3 inches of snow and on the way home saw about 5 cars in the ditch. Hopefully that is the last snow.

Today we ran errands and just stayed home in the evening. I haven't felt like going out to the bar lately. We did meet friends on Thursday evening, but I left early and came home. I hate that people can smoke in bars and restaurants in Michigan. I hate that 5 minutes in a bar leaves me smelling like an ashtray!

Today's 2Peas challenge~ What are you doing on this Easter Sunday to make memories to remember for years to come?

We are going to visit my Dad and his family. My Grandmother is living with them now, and I want to also see her on Easter. My Grandmother was put on oxygen 24 hrs/day and my Dad says that she is doing much better than without the oxygen. I am so glad to hear that.

Hope you all have a happy and safe Easter. Thanks for reading.

School is Out!

The semester is over!! I feel so relieved to be done with this one! It was a lot of work. I have been doing homework since the crop last weekend. I took this past Friday off work so that I could get school stuff done. Since I was home I ran errands and then worked on my exams. Of course some of my errands involved DSW and Archiver's.

Leno has Celebrity Jeopardy on now, he is making fun of New York former mayor, Spritzer. What is wrong with people in public positions doing such unethical things. I guess when the president was caught why should I be surprised about anyone else. Detroit is trying to get Kwame Kilpatrick to resign because he committed perjury and is probably involved in the murder of a stripper. Why don't people know better. Especially those in office? Just like major athletes doing drugs? I don't get it.
This past Saturday we celebrated my mother-in-laws birthday. She is 57 and does not look it at all.
This is a picture of all of us, except my husband is being blocked by his brother.
I will start my final 3 classes on March 31st, so I have some things that I want to get done while I am off.

1. Do our Taxes - did most tonight
2.Teach myself Adobe Photoshop Elements, I have 2 Jessica Sprague books & the program
3. Clean & Organize the Scrapbook Room
4. Clean & Organize the rest of the house

I have a little extra home time, because I have this Friday and Monday off for the Easter Holiday.

My Grandma was in the hospital and back home now, with oxygen, breathing much better.

Tiger loves it...

Different Shoes

I went to a fun crop on Saturday! We were lucky at our table, we all bought raffle tickets and all won prizes! I won these Love, Elsie Lola Stamps:I also won a $50 gift certificate towards a scrap weekend. I was going to book a weekend anyway, so glad I won it!

The rest of the weekend was spent doing homework... One week from today everything is due and over. I must be a little stressed; I wore 2 different black shoes to work today.

2 Peas Challenge~ Share what the weather is like in your area?
It is Cold!! It was 10 here this morning, but by Wednesday it is supposed to be 40 degrees! I can't wait for spring and summer.

Winter Storm Watch

We are getting the snow! Lots of it outside and it is blowing like crazy! I am glad that I don't have to go anywhere. Currently under a Winter Storm Watch...

I got my haircut last night and stopped at Archiver's, JoAnns, and Michaels. It is nice every now and then to make the stops and check out what they all have. I went to the dentist tonight for my 6 month cleaning. I love how the dentist talks to you while cleaning your teeth. At my dentist office the dentist himself does all of the work. He has 2 ladies that work for him and they handle the phones and clean tools. So today he was using a grinding tool/sander of some kind and was having a whole conversation without me saying anything. After he stopped I told him that I couldn't hear him, because of the noise. I don't think it bothered him at all.

I stopped at Pei Wei to pick up carry out for dinner. I got the hot & sour soup and sweet & sour chicken. I don't think I will go back. The chicken had hardly any sauce, dry chicken no good. The soup tasted different than I am used to also. They just opened not that long ago, maybe they are still working on it.

I am going to a crop on Saturday!! My sister is able to come also. I am looking forward to it. I decided last night at 11 pm to go into my scraproom and I did a few organizing things and got to bed around 1:30 am! Late for me. I usually watch Two and a Half Men at 11 pm and go to bed after that. I really love that show.
The 2Peas blog challenge~ What five things in life give you joy?

1. My Family
2. My Cats
3. My House
4. My LLS (Local Scrapbook Store)
5. Knowing that I only have 1 more semester left!

Speaking of school I have a presentation to put together and then a case study to do. I am now so glad that I waited until now to start the case study, I say sarcastically. I also have 4 exams and the normal homework to do! 3 classes and this much work! One more semester left. One more semester left. One more semester left. One more semester left. One more semester left.

Sweet 16 & Mess

Happy Sweet 16th Birthday Emily!
My sister turned 16 today:) We went out for dinner to celebrate and then back to our house for ice cream cake. Here is a picture of Ashley, Me, and Emily.

The 2 Peas Challenge~ Share something you were able to created this weekend.

Like my other posts mention, I have lots of homework to do. I am getting burned out with it. I will be all done on March 17th!! Anyway, despite not having much time, I did create this...

In case you are unsure of what I created... A MESS that's what it is!! Since reading The Organized & Inspired Scrapbooker I have decided to get all of my stuff organized. The last picture shows a large cabinet with lots of drawers, I got it in November, and have not put anything in it yet! I am trying to label the drawers and get my stuff together. I have a crop on Saturday, so hopefully I can get some stuff together for that. I have an Ikea Expedite that I took all my products out of and now begins the clean, sort, and label process. I have so much stuff, but I still feel the need to buy, especially when the coupons come from the scrapbook stores around here. Sometimes I think I am just a collector of supplies.

Hope you had a good weekend. Thanks for reading.
