Burnt!

I still have tanning credits left from last year, so I decided to start using them this summer. I went on Sunday and got burnt! I had gone a few times this year, however the chick at Image Sun forgot to tell me that the bulbs were new. OUCH! The pain has since gone away, but I can't believe they forgot to mention the new bulbs! Oh Well, at least I didn't catch fire!

Here is a picture from Monday with my Sisters. Ashley & Emily:

Sisters!

2 Peas's Challenge: Do you watch the news? Why or why not? What stories always move you? Blog about it.

I do occasionally watch the news, however it is depressing. Domestic violence seems to be a large part of the murders that occur. I don't understand why if people are so miserable they can't just take out themselves instead of their family, i.e. innocent children.

The stories I can not watch involve cruelty to animals. We were in a restaurant a few weeks ago and a story about dog fighting was on, it was showing bloody dogs and I can not handle that. I can not imagine why people torture people/children or animals.

On a more upbeat note...

AC started his new job yesterday. He is working at ABB in Auburn Hills. He likes it so far. I am sure he will be traveling some, but no word on when.

Yesterday I took a half day of work off to spend with my sisters. We went to Somerset Mall and shopped. Emily had a makeover, since she is 15 she is now allowed to wear makeup. (Although she has been secretly wearing it for over a year!:) Ashley was having a stressful day because her cell phone has not working! How tragic! Her thumbs were probably relived because they didn't have to text a 100 messages that day!

Short!

I got my haircut today, it is SHORT! I am happy with it. (See the new haircut on the right, had dinner and drinks with my dear friend Amy tonight and she took this picture.) One thing with short hair is that you have to get it cut a lot more often. I was going about every 5 weeks to get a haircut. Now I should be good for a while.

AC (dh) had golf league tonight and he just left to go to the movies with his brothers. I passed. My instructors finally posted the grades... I got B's in both classes. I am so happy, I was a little worried about my Econ class.

The 2 Pea's Challenge: Are you a spender or a saver? Blog about it.
Unfortunately a spender, although I have no idea what I spent money on before scrapbooking!

Speaking of saving... AC has been laid off for the last 8 weeks. He did receive a job offer yesterday and we are waiting for all of the details. It figures, weeks go by without any calls, then all at once the calls are coming in. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he can get a job close to home, but we will be thankful for any job.

2 Peas Challenge

Challenge: If you could cure any disease, what would it be? blog about it.
CANCER. It seems like everyone gets cancer. All of the older people I know died from cancer. How do so many people get cancer? Why can't we fix this? Are we all going to die from it?

Sketch Club

Last night I had sketch club at the Scrapbook Tree. Every month I go to the club and prior to going I get a sketch of a layout in the mail. The sketch includes paper and photo sizes. I always look forward to going. At least I know that once a month I will get one LO done. Last night I made this 2 page layout...

I need to go and watch Travler now, that show is addicting!

2 Peas Challenge

2 Peas Challenge~ When you first started to scrapbook did you ever think it would be such a huge deal in todays world?

I first started scrapbooking in 1998, back when you had to come up with your own ideas. Back when only one store and ugly patterned paper existed. I wasn't happy with any of the layouts that I made, so I quit. I picked it back up in January 2006 and love it. I can not believe how many cool things are out there! I have 5 scrap stores with in a 1/2 hour from my house. Michaels & Joanns are now selling a ton of stuff. Martha even jumped on the bandwagon. I am completely surprised at how large the world of scrapbooking has become. In April I attended my first CKU and spent a weekend attending classes and cropping with the "Scrapbook Celebrities". I had a great time and would love to go again.

Here are some pics from CKU...

My First Blog Post & 2 Peas Challenge

I have been thinking about starting a blog for a while now, and finally got the courage. This is an easy way to update friends and family. Life always seems eventful, hopefully it won't bore you.

School is almost over! I have one final to take and then a whole week off! I plan on spending it scrapbooking, since I haven't had much time to devote to it lately. Since moving into our house we have noticed that the yard requires a bit of work. We weeded the flower beds and trimmed the bushes this past weekend. Quite a change for someone who has lived in an apartment.

Before: After:
The neighbors are probably relieved that we are doing something!

2 Peas Challenge:
If you could write a letter to your younger self, knowing what you've learned in life already, what would that letter say?

My letter would say:

  1. Don't sweat the small stuff and it is all small stuff.
  2. If you and your family are ok, it isn't that bad.
  3. This too shall pass.
  4. Cherish every moment with the people you love, they may not be around forever.
