What a difference a night can make!

My phone calls this morning were filled with positive news about my Grandmother. Her Bilirubin count is down to 8 and she is feeling much better. She was put on a diuretic medicine that has reduced all the fluid and she is doing much better. What great news!

My plan today is to organize my scrap room. I am going to a 12 hour crop next weekend and I know that I will be much more productive if I have everything planned out. I also hope to visit my friend and her husband today.

Have a great day:)

Not any better

We went to the hospital this morning and I noticed that my Grandma was having a hard time breathing. Long story short she has fluid in her lungs and around her heart. She has had congestive heart failure for a few years. She also has pulmonary fibrosis which just intensifies the same symptoms. The doctor is making her comfortable tonight, she is getting pain medicine and something to help her sleep. I am going in the morning back to the hospital. Please pray for my Grandma.

I don't know if I have ever mentioned how lucky I was growing up to have such wonderful grandparents. There was never anyone better to me than my father's parents. I loved to visit them and spend the night at their house. I was afraid to sleep in the upstairs by myself, so I slept with my Grandma and Grandpa slept on the couch. What a guy! My Grandpa would go in the morning to get coffee and he would get me an ice cream cone. We always walked to the coffee shop and then to get the mail at the post office, or "PO" as he called it. We walked past a park and Grandpa would push me on the swing. My Grandmother was the township clerk for many years, so she always would have lots of papers that I could play with. I would sit on their stair steps and play for hours. They had a window there, so I would pretend that I worked in a bank. Grandma would let me write her checks out for her bills. My parents divorced in 1985, and thank God for my grandparents. My Dad was a cop in our town and would have to work different shifts for long periods of time, so they would come and stay with me or just pick me up for the weekend. On Sunday morning Grandpa would read the comics to me, as I sat on his lap. Truly the World's Best Grandparents to me. Even though I do not want to lose my Grandma, I know she won't mind being with my Grandpa again.

Grandma

We went to the hospital this morning to see my Grandma. She looked horrible. Her Bilirubin count was 3 when she entered the hospital on Christmas Eve, it then when to 9 and it is 12.8 today. The same Doctor that performed the procedure yesterday did it again today. Everything looked good and there was not any problems. Now we are being told that the antibiotic, unisyn, which was started immediately on 12/24, is causing a reaction in her body. One out of 100,000 people have a problem with this antibiotic. Poor Grandma. When I spoke to her she was so yellow looking and she obviously was not feeling good. She said, "I feel awful and I don't know what is going to happen, pray for me." After the procedure, when she was told that she would not have to have her gallbladder removed anytime soon, and told that she can eat a normal food again, she perked up. Hopefully tomorrow her bilirubin level will be down and she will feel better. The doctor did say that the bilirubin level will probably go higher and then plateau and then begin to lower. Sounds like a long process, but each person is different.

Returns & Grandma

We didn't put a tree up this year because the one we have would take up too much room. I saw a 9' pre-lit slim line tree at Wal-Mart that I wanted, but we didn't want to spend the money. On the morning of the 26th I woke up at 5:45 am and decided that I would go to the stores for the after Christmas sales. AC had told me that the stores would open at 6 am, so I rushed and got to Wal-Mart at 6:20 to find out that they didn't open until 7 am. However, the nice folks are Wal-Mart let us in at about 10 minutes early and guess what I got? A 9' pre-lit slim line tree for $62! I am so excited for next year to put it up. It was the last tree, so obviously it was meant to be:)

Then I started thinking (I should have just went home)... I have tree decorations (thanks to Martha Stewart) I bought a few years ago that all go together, gold and maroon are the colors. I really like them, but I am partial to silver now. So I decided to buy ornaments to switch to silver and blue. I bought an obscene amount of ornaments and Target and then a tons from Martha Stewart at KMart. When I got home I was looking at the wreath and garland (red and gold) that I spent a bunch of money on this year and decided with help from my husband to keep and use what we already have. That meant that I had to return tons of stuff. I was mad at myself for making more work for myself to do. That was my 26th.

Today I returned the rest of the items, made a trip to Archiver's and have been trying to organize my scrap room since.

A Grandma update. Yesterday she had the procedure and they removed 3 stones. I called this morning and Denise said that Grandma is real yellow and not feeling good. This evening they said that she has more stones stuck in the gallbladder. I am going tomorrow morning to see her and hopefully she will be feeling better. My Dad will call later on tonight with another update. Thanks for your thought and good wishes.

Merry Christmas!

Ok, lets start with Christmas Eve... Since we were having a dinner party in the evening I needed to clean the house and get it ready for company. I finished making the desserts the night before, so at least I had that going for me. My phone rang in the morning at about 8:30, but I decided not to answer so I could sleep a little while longer. Later on I listened to the message and it was my Dad telling me that my 85 year old Grandmother was in the hospital and going to be transferred to Port Huron hospital (a much bigger hospital than the one in the small town she lives in.) I jumped in the shower and tried to get ready quickly. As soon as I was out of the shower the phone rang again. This time it was the company I was expecting in the evening. The flu was going around their family so only 2 people were coming instead of 8. We missed them. We had enough food to feed a small army, so luckily it was great food. I got ready and drove to the hospital to be with my family. AC was a real trooper. He cleaned the entire house and got everything ready. His brother, Amit, was a huge help also. Thanks!

My Grandma... She went to sleep on Sunday night and woke up with chest pain. She called her neighbor who took her to the hospital and phoned my Dad at 3 am. It can never be good if the phone is ringing in the middle of the night. I got to the hospital at 12:30 and found out what was going on. The doctors found that she has gallstones. She described the pain as starting in the middle of her chest and traveling around to her right side of her back. She is very weak and tired. She always tells me how lucky she is and how thankful she is that she is healthy and can live by herself. My Grandma is a wonderful women. I got home on Christmas Eve at 6:20. The party started at 6:30. AC and his family are such a huge help. I am lucky to have them as my family. Entertaining is so exhausting! There was only 11 adults and 3 kids, but man were we tired! The food was awesome and everybody had a good time.

My sister Ashley stopped by with her boyfriend for a late dinner. She was born on Christmas Eve and turned 17 this year. I want so much for my sisters. I really hope and pray that they go to school and live at the college. Hopefully here in Michigan. I just want them to be happy and successful in life. I will help them in any way that I can.

AC and I opened our gifts to each other on Christmas Eve. He is such a great guy. I had asked for slippers and he couldn't decide so I got 3 pair. I also wanted a black leather checkbook cover and I got 3 of those:) I also got a huge 15 inch digital photo frame. I had seen it at Costco and really liked it, but said it was too much. He also got me a robe, pajamas, 3 sweaters, earrings & bracelet, pants, and fuzzy comfy socks. He got clothes and cologne.

This is how we decided to display our Christmas cards and the only real decorations we put out. I bought the 2 trees at Target and was going to put them outside, but liked them inside better. (Especially since we didn't put a tree up.)

I spoke to my Dad this evening and my Grandma is going to have this procedure called ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) tomorrow sometime. AC and I will go to the hospital tomorrow to see her.

Today we saw my sisters and exchanged gifts with them. AC and his brothers went to see a movie tonight. We have had a good Christmas and are blessed to have our families. Hopefully Grandma makes out good tomorrow and goes home soon.
I finally used the self timer on my camera and got this picture of all of us. (From the left: Me, AC, Emily, Howard (A & E's Dad), Ashley, Tim (Ashley's boyfriend), and Phil (Emily's Boyfriend.)
Hope you have a happy and safe Holiday!

An Early Christmas Gift

Tiger and Cupcake got an early gift...
Spoiled Cats! AC happened to see this at Costco for $69. A steal compared to pet store prices.

Since we are having a Christmas party tomorrow night, I have been busy getting ready for that. I made no-bake cookies and peanut butter bars yesterday and these today...
My plan is to make fudge and rice crispy treats this evening. AC and his brother Amit are cooking all of the food. We are having Italian. Actually we did order Fettuccine Alfredo from our favorite local Italian restaurant. Most of the people that are coming to the party have not yet been to our house, so we have to be sure that each room is clean. The scrapbook room needs an overhaul. I would like to take care of all the cleaning tonight. I updated my blog today, with a new template and new photos. The computer is so addicting! I could have played with this for hours. I better get to cleaning. Have a great holiday!

How many days...

Wow it December 19th already. Only...

6 Days until Christmas

Yesterday was our pot luck luncheon at work. This is always a fun day and lots of good food. Lots of good cooks here. I had sketch club last night. I always look forward to that. I was invited to the invite only 12 hour sketch club crop. It is on January 5th, can't wait!! The store owner has 4 different sketches and makes 12 layouts with various paper brands. I usually use the sketches and bring my own paper, but this time she had some layouts I could not resist, especially since I am working on my sisters pictures from when they were little. I would post some layouts, but we had out home computer rebuilt and I still have to install the scanner. Maybe this weekend.

We were supposed to celebrate my Grandmother's 85th birthday and have Christmas this past Sunday, but the weather did not cooperate. We got 6 inches of snow. It was pretty and makes it feel more like Christmas. We stayed in most of the day and went to my in-laws for dinner.
I have to start wrapping the gifts! I really don't look forward to that. I do have gift bags, so I will probably just use those.

I was trying to get my scrapbook room a little organized and Cupcake (my kitten) was into everything. I was taking paper out of a bag and she was getting into the bag. And I always wonder when I am scrapbooking why there is cat hair on everything! It is funny how different our cats are. I ran to Target 2 nights ago while AC was cooking dinner and he said he went into the living room and when he went back into the kitchen, Cupcake was on the counter next to the stove looking into the pot!! This is the trouble maker... Miss Cupcake
Hope everyone is having a great week! Thanks for reading!

No More Classes

I am so excited because I do not have class until January 7th!! I took my last exam on Monday night and I think I did well. I am looking forward to the next few weeks without school. Only two semesters remaining!

AC worked nights last night, but they told him that they needed him on days today. He worked from 6pm last night to 2 am this morning. He went to work around 8:30, so I am sure he will be tired. I am hoping that this means that they will have him work days from now on. His company put only 2 people on nights, coincidentally the only two that do not have children. That is not fair, there should be a rotation, like maybe 4 weeks on nights and then 4 weeks on days. Life isn't always fair.

Only 7 more days of work this year!! I have the week+ off between Christmas and New Year's Day. I am looking forward to the break. Have a good Wednesday! Thanks for reading!

Birthday Weekend!

The weekend flew by! On Friday night I did an 8 hour crop. On Saturday night we went out for my birthday dinner and then had ice cream cake at home. I always bring this yellow birthday hat to every birthday dinner and make everyone wear it. They hate it and always hope I will forget it! I love it. I think it is funny and cute. So here is my pic in the birthday hat.

Here is AC's brothers goofing around...I am so glad that we took this picture in front of the light that was taken half down to change, then we figured out that we would have to paint around the new one, then we ran out of time to put it back up!

On Sunday we went to Howard's house for another birthday dinner. Howard was my mother's second husband and the father of Ashley & Emily. I got some great gifts this year. It was so nice to see everyone. Thanks for making my birthday great!

Holiday Cards

Today's 2Peas Challenge is: Do you try to send a family photo inside your holiday cards?

Last year I sent wallet size photos from our wedding reception in November. This year I decided to get photo cards. They are much cheaper than I expected. At Costco I got 75 cards with envelopes for $24. I will be returning the Hallmark cards I originally bought. I maybe should have gotten a better picture, but I needed to get them sent out, so I mailed them today.

Not much going on this week. I turned 29 yesterday. I went for drinks with Amit and came home and caught up on the DVR. Birthdays are not as important as they once were. I didn't really want to do anything. It just wasn't a big deal to me. We are all going out for dinner on Saturday evening, because AC is not working. My mother-in-law had to make an unexpected trip to India on Tuesday, because her father passed away. She called me on my birthday from India. How cool is that? She remembered and made a point to call from India!

We are celebrating Christmas and my Grandma's 85th birthday on December 16th, so this weekend I need to wrap the gifts. I bought a Christmas wreath and garland from Costco, so I put that up last night. I also bought two artificial, potted, 4.5', pre-lit, pine trees for the front porch, but since it was windy I put them on each side of the TV and I like them there. I don't feel like putting the tree up this year, so I think I will just leave them inside.

I am going to the Scrapbook Tree tonight to crop. I am excited to get some pages done. Have a great weekend.

Challenge, School, & a Song

2 Peas Challenge today is: What are 5 things on your computer desk right now?
I am at work, so I have a tape dispense, stapler, lotto tickets and money (we have a lotto club and I have to get the tickets before tomorrow night), statistics book & calculator, and a little red fan.

I watched Desperate Housewives last night, can't wait to see the next episode! Who won't survive the tornado? Victor is obviously is the husband that does not survive, but who is the friend to all that doesn't make it? Carlos? Hope not!

One week from today I will be done with school!! So excited! I registered for next semester and I decided since I only have 6 classes left I will take 3 each semester and finish in June! Winter semester I will have Marketing Management, Organizational Leadership, and Production & Operations Management. I really hope it is not too much with working full time.

My favorite song for the last 2 months...

God Bless the Good Samaritan

Friday night my sisters came over and spent the night. We did a little shopping and then had dinner at Chili's. The shopping we did was at Kohls. Kohls reminds me of Art Van, you know how they are always having the biggest sale of the year. The Kohls we went to didn't have everything I needed so I planned on going to another Kohls today.

The Scrapbook Tree was having their anniversary sale today and everything was 20% off. I spent 2 hours in the store and got some cool paper. Then I went to Kohls. I was Christmas shopping, so I am not going to say what I was getting, but I had to go through lots of items to find the correct things that I wanted. I was sitting on the floor going through the items and was not having any luck. I saw an employee walk by, so I got her to help me. She looked in the computer and it said they had 8 of the items. I told her they were not out on the floor, so she went to the back to look.
I was making a call while I was waiting and all of a sudden I realized my purse was gone!!! I frantically went to the department I was looking in and nothing. I was panicking and thinking about how I was going to be buying Christmas for someone else! I saw another store employee and told her my purse was missing. She was quizzing me on where I was and said she would call customer service. I was nervous. Luckily a Good Samaritan had found my purse on the floor (by where I was sitting) and immediately turned it in. Thank God there were honest people shopping at Kohls today!!

As I mentioned before Kohls has different sales all the time. Today, while I was in the store they announced that the "special pricing" would remain in effect until 2 pm. Lucky me, so I re-bought most of the items that I bought last night, thinking I would save some money. Kohls was busy and did not have any carts available so I was dragging a big shopping bag that they have. The bag was so full that I couldn't carry it! All that to get home, compare the receipts, and realize that I paid the exact amount for all items bought yesterday and today!! So, this evening I picked up some dinner to take to my husband, who is working 2nd shift, and then went to a different Kohls and did my returns.

Before I forget...
Where ever you are Good Samaritan, God Bless You and may you have a great holiday season.

The DL on Thanksgiving Dinner...

My husband began working 2nd shift on 11/20 and will probably continue until the end of the year. It is a bummer, but we are thankful he has a job. I was not very good at doing things ahead of time to help with the work load on Thanksgiving morning, so I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

We have 2 kitties, so I did not want to set the table the night before, because I know they would be all over the china. It really took a long time to set the table. I looked at the potatoes that I had peeled, and it didn't look like enough, so AC headed to the store for potatoes. I was peeling the extra potatoes and freaking out since it was 11 am and AC was vacuuming. My family showed up at noon and AC was still vacuuming and had to shower. After everyone arrived I put out cheese and crackers, with was enough to tide everyone over. We were supposed to eat at 1:00, so I was checking the temp of the turkey and it hit 170 degrees, so I took it out to rest. After resting, my Dad was going to carve it. When he started to carve it, it was not done! Back in the oven. The potatoes didn't boil as fast as I would have liked, but we ate at 2:00.

When AC and I sat down to eat we were not even hungry, but definitely exhausted! We were getting up to get items to people and be sure everyone had everything they needed. After a while I looked over to the kitchen and wanted to run! All the dishes I own were dirty and what a mess to clean up! I am very lucky because I have a mother-in-law that is extremely helpful. She washed everything, my step-mother, Denise dried and I put them away.

Then it was time for dessert. I grabbed the paper plates and we had pecan pie, pumpkin pie, and ice cream. I only had 12 people and it was crazy, I can't even imagine 25 people! Actually I can, 25 people sitting around perfectly set tables at a restaurant! We enjoyed playing the Wii and 5 Crowns (a card game). I took the next day and rested! No Black Friday Shopping for me! I forgot to mention that we had enough food left over to feed a small army! I didn't even need to peel extra potatoes.

The horrible thing that happened was that I didn't take one single photo! I probably shouldn't even call myself a scrapbooker anymore:(

Hope your Thanksgiving was great!

Turkey Time

I looked in the basement last night and the Christmas Tree we have is 7.5 feet tall. I remember wanting the 9' tree, but settling with the 7.5! What was I thinking??

I forgot to mention that AC is working afternoons for the next 2-3 weeks. Just thankful he has a job.

I decided to brine the turkey, so last night I was getting the Williams Sonoma Brining mix ready. This morning I got the turkey out of the refrigerator and had to get it ready for the brining mix. I finally got the legs out of the metal piece and then found the neck. It grosses me out to see what so looks like a dead turkey. That probably doesn't make sense. Let me try to explain, I like to eat chicken, but usually in strip form. I eat pork chops and ham, but never have I seen the whole pig on the table. I did not see the bag that was supposed to be in the turkey. I decided that then seemed like a good time to read the directions. It says the bag is in the neck area, along with a helpful hint about getting the legs out from the metal piece! Finally, I get a knife and cut into the other end of the turkey. Found it! Now it is in a giant brining bag in the refrigerator. Hopefully it will be worth it. Can't wait to see how it all goes tomorrow!

Oh Christmas Tree

2Peas Challenge for today is:
With the hoildays around the corner. When does your family put up your tree and other decorations? Is there a tradition?

Well, I really don't have a tradition for putting up the Christmas tree or decorations. Last year we were packing to move, so we didn't put anything out. This year we will have to start a tradition. It will be the first Christmas in our house, so it is exciting. We have been talking about our Christmas tree and we don't think it will fit in our house. It is a big tree, like 6.5 feet tall and really wide. My plan is to look for a slim line tree or two. I have lots of ornaments and would like to have them on different trees. I have places for smaller trees, just not one huge tree. I have never put lights outside, so I am looking forward to it this year. I will probably start getting the decorations out soon. I want to buy outside lights and get them all set before it snows. We are planning to have company over on Christmas Eve. I am not going to worry about that until this week is over. My problem with the holiday decor is that I get excited and put it out too early and then get sick of looking at it.

I remember one year when I was probably 9 or 10 and I took the tree down on Christmas day in the evening. My parents are divorced and after my mom dropped me off at home, I didn't have anything else to do. My dad was working at the time. Good Times.

Biggest Step

The 2Peas challenge for today is~
What is the biggest step you have taken this year?

I would have to say having Thanksgiving dinner for 12 at our house this year! I am excited, but nervous since I have never cooked a turkey or much else for that matter! We registered for china when we got married, so I got it all out and washed in preparation for Thanksgiving dinner, but to be honest the closer Thanksgiving comes, the better paper plates look. Since it is the first Thanksgiving dinner we are hosting, I will use the china. I bought a table cloth, place mats, napkins, and napkin rings in order to have a good looking table. The table cloth and napkins need to be pressed, so I thought I would do the napkins and let the dry cleaner do the table cloth. The dry cleaner wanted $18 to only press the darn thing! I could not believe it! I will be pressing it myself sometime in the next 3 days.

I went to a 12 hour crop on Saturday. I was still kind of burnt out from the week, but I went at 9 am and left at 8 pm, so I made it for 11 hours. On Friday after work I did the Thanksgiving grocery shopping that could be done early. Just did laundry and homework the rest of the weekend. I have a group project that I need to finish for school and my statistics class tonight. Thanks for reading:)

Busy Week

On Friday we celebrated Diwali at our house. Here is a photo.

On Saturday I woke up with a sore throat and still have it today. This week is going to be busy. Tonight I have class, Tuesday is sketch club, Saturday is a 12 hour crop that I need to prepare for. No time to be sick. I think I will go get most of the groceries for Thanksgiving on Wednesday evening, of this week. I want to be prepared and not shopping at the last minute. We basically took it easy this weekend. AC did work all day on Saturday, so I should say I basically took it easy this weekend:)

Happy Diwali

"India is the land of festivals but Diwali is one of the few grandest indian festival celebrated all over India with equal enthusiasm and zeal. Diwali Festival is the abbreviation of the Sanskrit word 'Deepavali', which means 'rows of lights'. One of the major Hindu festivals, it is celebrated to commemorate the returning of Rama and Sita to their kingdom Ayodhya after fourteen years of exile. Though, Diwali is mainly a five- day festival but we can see people preparing Diwali weeks ahead by cleaning and decorating their households. The main festival day falls on the no-moon day of the dark half of Kartik, according to the Hindu lunar calendar."

"Celebrated with vigour and gaiety by people of every religion Deepavali, its magical and radiant touch creates an atmosphere of joy and festivity. Innumerable lamps are lit on the roofs and windowsills of the houses, thus, giving an ethereal and almost divine look to the whole scenario. It is said that Lakshmi, Goddess of wealth roams the earth on this day and enters the house that is pure, clean and brightly illuminated. Young and old, men and women, all dress up in new clothes and buy new utensils on this day. They worship the deities, Lakshmi and Ganesha, and share sweets and gifts with their relatives and friends. It is also the beginning of the new financial year for the business community. However, it is the crackers and the fireworks that attract the kids the most and form the highlight of the festival."

We will be lighting our candles tonight and having dinner with my in-laws. I like the part about dressing up in new clothes!

Wow! My little blog has been viewed over 1,000 times!! How cool! Not much happening this week. I took my leather cost to the tailor yesterday to get taken in. I waved yesterday and my wedding ring flew off. Luckily I found it. I also took it in to have made smaller. All the china is cleaned for Thanksgiving. Of course, there were stickers on the bottom of each piece! Tomorrow is an Indian holiday, I'll post more about that tomorrow. We will be having dinner with my in-laws. I have lots of homework to do this week. I am going to a crop on the 17th, so I need to start getting that stuff together. Have a great Thursday.

Spa Party

Arbonne, anyone heard of it? I went to a "Spa Party" on Friday and it was for Arbonne products. Arbonne is an all natural, vegan, organic line of beauty products. They use a water base in all products and say that most products use an oil base. It is a bit pricey, but sometimes you get what you pay for. Has anyone out there tried this? I signed up to host a "Spa Night" at my house, but I am waiting for my product before I schedule it. I want to be sure I love it before I tell my friends.

Saturday we watched the Michigan vs Michigan State game. Pretty exciting. Michigan won, we are really happy about this! I didn't feel well on Sunday or today. I went to work and came home at noon. I am getting ready to go to school now. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Practice Turkey?

The 2Peas Challenge for today is~ Let's talk classes at LSS
What is a class you would love to attend/see at your LSS?
I would like to take a sewing class. Not sewing on clothing, but sewing on my scrapbook pages. I haven't done it yet, because I am confident that I will ruin it!

November 2nd already! Thanksgiving will be here in no time. We are having Thanksgiving at our house this year. Since being in our house, we now have the room to have family over. My Dad, Denise and their kids along with my Grandma and my in-laws will all be coming over for dinner. There will be 12 of us! Since this will be the first time I have ever cooked a large meal for others (that wasn't frozen prior to the meal), I am a little nervous. I have never cooked a turkey. My co-worker, Kathy, is a good cook and is going to help me plan the meal. My husband is a good cook, but not very good at getting everything finished at the same time. Maybe I should have a practice turkey before the real day? Since I wouldn't want to ruin Thanksgiving! We we got married we registered for China and I was thinking about getting that out to use on Thanksgiving. I would much rather use nice paper plates, but I am going to use the china, since that is why we got it. I better get the dishes out (since they are still in the boxes they came in)and washed soon. Maybe I will look for some Thanksgiving placemats also. I already have a white table cloth. So much to decide!

Happy Thursday

Got a few trick-or-treaters last night. Probably around 30. One little boy came up to the door with his brother and informed me that they were allergic to peanut butter. I asked if they could have Hershey bars and he said yes. Funny!

After candy time was over, our friend, Gregg came over and we went to dinner at Macaroni Grill. I haven't been there in a long time. Husband still on nights, hope schedule changes soon. I watched Private Practice last night and I am really liking that show. I can't wait for the next episode, which will be in 2 weeks:( I also really like Cane on Tuesday nights on CBS. I really like Jimmy Smits as Alex Vega. Grey's Anatomy tonight. I should also work on homework and cleaning the house.

You often feel invisible when you're in public. And it's a shame, because you're really quite a character.
Your inner child is stubborn and a bit bossy.
You fear those closest to you finding out who you really are. You dread people discovering your secrets.
You're prone to be quite emotional and over dramatic. Deep down, you enjoy being scared out of your mind... even if you don't admit it.
You are picky and high maintenance. If you wear a Halloween costume, it's only when you really feel like it. And it has to be perfect.

Happy Halloween!

Today's 2 Peas Challenge~ Share a Halloween memory you have as a child...
I remember getting tons of candy! So much that you couldn't possibly eat all of it, you know come Easter you still had some left. I also remember people giving away apples, pencils, and worst of all pennies!

This is our first Halloween in our house and also the first time we will be handing out candy. I probably went a little overboard with the candy, but I don't want to run out. And if there is some chocolate left, I can deal with it:)

AC has been working nights since last Thursday. He goes in at 6 pm and comes home around 4 am. Not fun. Last year he was out of town a lot, but I got used to it. Last year we were in an apartment and I was never freaked out by being by myself. Since we are in a house this year, it is a little different. When I am by myself the house seems so big. I find myself not wanting to hang out at home alone. I'm sure I will get used to it again. We have an alarm, but I really think a big intimidating dog would be comforting. At least AC comes home and isn't gone for 2 weeks at a time. The night schedule won't last for long, maybe just a few more days.

Happy Halloween!

Tagged!

1. Link to the person's blog who tagged you.
I was tagged by Stella in Round Rock Texas! Her Blog: semi-charmed life

2. List seven weird things about yourself...
I tend to be a little obsessive, ok a lot!
I don't wear makeup to work
I hate to cook
I like to eat green and red peppers raw, but despise them cooked
I would eat at Taco Bell everyday if I thought my co-workers wouldn't stage an intervention
When I drink I swear like a truck driver, ok maybe not just when I drink
I love my cats and can't imagine a life without them

3. Tag seven people to do the same and post a comment on their blog
I am going to tag...
Dawn Mom of 6 with a hilarious blog

Puppy Update!

I forgot to include some news about the puppies...
They are getting bigger and starting to walk around in the pen. They are adorable. All 13 are still doing good! I love that they lay all over each other.

Since there are 13, Denise (my step-mom) has been feeding them once a day. She has a recipe that she uses to make the milk, it contains a can of pet milk, gelatin, Karo syrup, egg yokes and not sure what else. It takes her 2 hours to feed them all. They are so cute with all the little puppy noises they make.

CKU '08!

2 Pea's Challenge: Blog about something inspiring that you've heard/read lately. Blog about it.

CKU 2008!!

I had the best time at CKU '07 in Detroit. It was a very inspiring weekend. Michelle and I both had a blast. So, we have decided to go to CKU '08 in Chicago!! We have our hotel reservations and can not wait! It isn't taking place until March, so we have a while to save for it.

Yard Work & Stitches

This past weekend weekend we went to My Dad's to celebrate birthdays. Jacob turned 8 & Josh turned 11. Denise always makes the coolest cakes!
I had a statistics exam last night. I am hoping for a huge curve! Tonight after work I had some extra energy, so I decided to go to Home Depot and get a pair of hedge trimmers. I got home and started working in the front yard getting all of the hostas and other plans cut down for winter. I also trimmed our tree. While trimming I tried to cut a large branch and ended up taking a small chunk out of the blade, so the trimmers would only close half way. Great, broke already! I went inside and asked AC to fix it for me. He came out to the garage and I went to pick up the branches. A few minutes later I came around into the garage and I must have been enough of a distraction, because AC cut his thumb. He went inside and I fixed the trimmer myself by standing on it. A little while later AC came back outside to tell me that he thinks he needs stitches. Off to Rochester Urgent Care we go. There wasn't anyone else there, so we didn't have to wait long at all. He got 4 stitches. The cut is below his finger nail straight down the knuckle. Since we were there I got a flu shot. This is the first time I have gotten one, hope it works.

The Big House

"Michigan Stadium. The Big House. Home of Michigan Football. One of the country's most classic, widely recognized sporting facilities, Michigan Stadium has come to symbolize the pride, tradition and excellence of the University of Michigan. There is truly no place like it on a fall Saturday afternoon." My first game and I loved it. We had a lot of fun and we won!

Only 110,888 people there on Saturday!

We got home from the game around 6:30, and I took off to go toTracy's house. It was my first time playing Bunko with her monthly Bunko group. She has invited me many times, but I wasn't able to go. I am so glad that I went, we had a fun night. I got home around 1 am!

Go Blue!

Today, we are going to Ann Arbor to the U of M football game against Purdue. Last night Aman & Amit were making chili and marinating pork chops in order to properly be ready to tailgate today. I have never been to a game, so I am looking forward to it.

After the game I am playing Bunko at Tracy's house. Busy Saturday. Tomorrow needs to be all homework. Have a great weekend!

Sketch Club & 2 Peas Challenge

The week is almost over. My work is slow this week, so I have been working on my homework. I have to study for my statistics class.
On Tuesday, I went to sketch club at the Tree. I always like going there. I got one 2-page layout completely done. I am working on making books for Ashley & Emily (my sisters), since I have a ton of photos from when they were little. I was 12 when Ashley was born and Emily came a year later. Now Ashley is 16, going to be 17 in December. My plan is to give the completed books to them when they graduate, so I have lots of time.
I watched Private Practice & Dirty Sexy Money last night. Both good shows.
Today's Challenge~ Are you a person who will go out of your norm to try something new at least once. Or stay with that your comfortable with?
I am a complete creature of habit, but I will try new things, like food, at least once.
Yesterday's Challenge - Do you get any monthly scrapbook kits? If yes, what do you like about the kit?
I have been getting the monthly kit from 3 Scrappy Boys. I like the kits because often it contain new paper lines and everything coordinates perfectly. The kits also contain different embellishments than what I would put together.

It's Monday again...

AC found out late Friday night that he had the weekend off, so that was good for him. He has been working a lot and welcomed the break.
I had a great time scrapping this weekend! I got about 3 2-page LO's complete. On Saturday, I was supposed to go to the Michigan football game, but I ducked out at the last minute. It was too hot. I hate being hot and so I thought it was better to just stay home. AC went with his brother, Amit. Amit has season tickets and Gaurav is going to school there, so they always have a good time tailgating and all. I ran errands on Saturday and we just stayed in and caught up on the DVR recordings in the evening.
I think Grey's Anatomy has been pretty disappointing so far this season. Meredith is becoming quite whiner.
I started my homework late on Sunday, so I need to go to school early tonight to finish. Tomorrow night is sketch club at my LSS.
Have a great week and thanks for reading.

Puppies & 2 Peas Challenge!

I got an email today from my Dad & Denise... They have puppies! Amber the dog had 13 puppies! I can not wait to hold them. Puppies are the best!
Challenge for today~ What are you scrapping plans for the weekend?

I am going to a crop at my LSS (local scrapbook store) from 4 pm to midnight. I am excited to crop tonight! My co-worker, Kathy, and her neighbor are also going.

Awake & 2 Peas Challenge

My class on Monday night went good. It has been a while since I have had a statistics class, so I need to refresh a bit. I was not feeling very good today, so I went to bed early at 10 pm. I woke up at 1 am and here I am, not able to sleep.

The 2 Peas Challenge for today is... When you are stuck and need some inspiration. Where do you turn?
Idea books! I have more than I will ever have time to use all of the ideas. I really like the Easy Patterns for Scrapbooking Magazine. Lots of cool ideas inside. I also find that the monthly sketch club at my LSS is a huge inspiration to scrapbook.

First Day of School

Finally I got some scrapbooking done this weekend! I went to the 12 hour crop on Saturday with my sister. We had a good time. I will post photos later. I start school tonight, so from 6 to 10 pm I will be in class. Not looking forward to it, but need to get it done. Six more classes after this semester and I will have my bachelors degree. I can't wait! AC had to work on Saturday morning and then all day on Sunday. Sunday evening we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner. Overall, it was a nice weekend:)

My Scrapbook Room & 2 Peas Challenge

The DVR is working!! Now I have lots of shows to catch up on:) Going out to dinner tonight with the in-laws to celebrate the September birthdays. Have to do laundry and pack for the crop tomorrow! I am looking forward to it. By signing up, I know that I will scrapbook, otherwise I plan on doing it, but never end up doing any at home. I have a beautiful scrapbook room, but I don't work in it that much. (Let's keep this on the down low.)

My Scraproom:

2 Peas Challenge~ Have you started any of your holiday projects?
No! I am having trouble deciding if I want to make my Christmas cards. I have bought a couple of stamp sets from Archivers, but have not decided what to do. I was at Hallmark the other day and started looking at the Christmas cards there, which just made the decision harder. I would like to make a cute holiday card, but people just toss them out, so why bother? Not sure what I will do.

Happy Birthday & DVR Trouble

I just want to say Happy 33rd Birthday to my dear husband. We have been married for 15 months and together for 6 years. It is a pleasure to have him in my life. Thank you honey, for all you do and I hope you have a wonderful birthday.

Now for the sad part, last night our DVR started acting up. We were able to record, but not watch the recorded shows. I called Comcast this morning and they recommended unplugging it for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. I sure hope this works! Since we will be out celebrating husband's birthdaytonight, we will not be home to catch the season premier of The Office or Grey's Anatomy!! (If only this could always be my biggest problem.)
I am just going to hope for the best and work on the DVR when we get home.

Happy Thursday:)

Dr & 2 Peas Challenge

The cast/splint is off!! Yahoo! The Doctor said that he expects the feeling to return to normal in my palm, not sure about the thumb, it will take time. I am able to wear my watch today, and it fits like normal, so my wrist is not to swollen. The only bad thing about this doctor is that I have had to wait quite a while when I go there. That is the most annoying thing when going to an appointment, and waiting 45+ minutes for your "appointment."

I am so glad that Fall TV is back!!
I miss shows over the summer. On Monday we watched How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, Heroes, and Journeyman. Heroes is not really my kind of show, but AC and Amit really like it. I try to watch, but get bored and usually try to read or do something else without bugging them. Last night we watched some of House and Boston Legal.
We DVR'd a couple other shows from last night also. I can't wait to see the Office and Grey's Anatomy! We need to get a life!!

AC's birthday is tomorrow, so we are going to his parents for dinner. After dinner we are meeting some friends for drinks. On Saturday, AC is in a golf tournament that will last all day, so my sister, Ashley, and I are going to a 12 hour crop at our LSS. I am looking forward to going and getting some scrapping done. I need to spend some time tonight organizing and getting ready for the crop, so my time is not wasted there.

2 Pea's Challenge~ How often do you meet with friends to scrap? Do you wish it could be more?

I meet once a month at my LSS for the monthly club that we belong to. I wish we met more often, but it is hard to always find the time.

I had trouble sleeping last night, so I thought I would update my blog, but I could not for the life of me, get logged into Blogger!! So I read other blogs and surfed the net from 1 am to 2:30 am. I hate when that happens.

Tuesday Come Quick!

Since my hand surgery on Monday, I have had this on my left hand/arm:
I go back to the doctor's office on Tuesday morning and I can not wait to get this off. It is a wrap over a splint, it was getting too lose and dirty, so I re-wrapped it this morning.
