Productive Monday

Today's Challenge~ Do you use stamps with your layouts?
No. I have lots of CTMH stamps, but I have not used any on my layouts. I need to start doing that. I also want to start making cards with my scrapbooking scraps. The scrap pile is a little overwhelming.

I am so proud of myself - last night I went home from work watered my plants, then sat down at the computer and did all of my homework. I was finished around 9pm. I felt great after finishing all of it, probably because it was due at midnight last night. I have a hard time going home after work and being productive. Work slows down in the afternoon, so by the time I am home at 4pm I am tired and take a nap:( Not yesterday! I think it had something to do with the cup of coffee I drank at 3:00. I am not a coffee drinker, or soda for that matter. I needed the caffeine, and it worked, so good in fact that I had a hard time sleeping and woke up at 4 am.

Busy Weekend

Today I went to a baby shower for my friend Kelly. We worked together 3 years ago. It was nice to see her so happy. She is excited, this will be their first child. They are expecting a little girl in September. The shower was at Filippa's and the food was great.

This weekend was a busy one! I have a bunch of homework that is due Monday at midnight. Yikes! Aman's friend Brad came over tonight to help him install a screen door. It isn't really a door, but a retractable screen. I will post a pic once it is all finished. Brad is coming back on Tuesday. We are lucky to have such good friends:)

Family Affair

Ashley & Emily spent the night last night, so they were here for breakfast this morning. Lucky for us, Aman and his brother Amit like to cook and they are very good at it! They decided to make breakfast for all of us this morning. Around 10 Amit and Gaurav came over and Aman and Amit started cooking. Here is Amit cooking chocolate chip and blueberry pancakes. They also made bacon, sausage, hash browns, and Aman made loaded scrambled eggs.

After breakfast I cleaned up and took the girls home. Then we started landscaping. We got 2 yards of cedar mulch. I split and moved some hostas. We trimmed bushes, roses, and weeded. We never could have gotten so much done without Amit and Gaurav. My father-in-law even came over to help. It is nice to have my new brothers so close. They come over at least once a week. Sometimes we get carry out and sometimes they cook:)

Crop til ya drop!

On Friday Ashley, Amy, Debbie (Amy's MIL), and myself went to crop at the Little Scrapbox from 4pm to Midnight. We had a great time. I wimped out and left before midnight.

2 Peas Challenge~
Let's talk photo storage. How do you store all your photo from your camera? Do you download them all to your computer or print them all?
I upload my pics to my computer constantly, because you never know what may happen to your camera. I also upload all of my photos to Kodak Gallery so that they are not just on my hard drive, because you never know when your computer will puke. I also burn my pics to a DVD as a backup every 6 months. I only keep the current year photos on my computer, so that it doesn't take up too much space.

Where would I go?

Thursday's 2 Peas Challenge: If you could take a drive to anywhere, where would you go??? blog about it...
I would get a convertible and drive around Michigan, along the water. Growing up in Harbor Beach I was very close to Lake Huron. I never thought I would miss the water, but I do.

Friday's 2 Peas Challenge~ Do you tend to do more hand or computer journaling?
I prefer to do computer journaling, because I think it looks better than my handwriting. I have been trying to journal on every page, because it should be there. Sometimes it is just easier to skip it.

I have lots to do tonight, because I am cropping tomorrow night with Ashley & Amy at the Little Scrapbox.

10 Years

Yesterday I attended my 10 year high school reunion! The reunion was held at the beach in the small town I grew up in, Harbor Beach, MI. As we all know the weather in Michigan does not always cooperate, Saturday was no different, it was raining and 60 degrees on July 14th!! It did stop raining and we did have it at the beach, however not a lot of people attended. I graduated with a class of 100 people and probably 20 showed up. It was interesting to see who was engaged, married, pregnant, and where everyone was living. 10 years seems like a long time, but it went by fast.

I spoke to my Grandma on Thursday evening and she mentioned that a lot of changes happened in her life over the last 10 years. My Grandpa passed away and my Grandma went from being able to do anything to getting tired easily and not having the energy she used to. For someone age 75, 10 years can mean a lot of changes. I was really lucky to have such great grandparents. They were always there for me, no questions asked. Here is a picture of my dear sweet Grandma.
Check this out...
My good friend Amy justed started a blog, see it here.

2 Peas Challenge

Today's Challenge~ If there was a local scrapbook club in your area that meets once a month. Would you join it and attend?
There is a local scrapbook store (The Scrapbook Tree) that has a monthly sketch club. I am a member and attend monthly. The cost is $10 and it is from 6 pm to 9:30 pm. I usually go early, around 5. I am actually going tomorrow evening. Before the meeting the store sends me a sketch and that is usually what I work on. I like to go and catch up with friends that I do not see often. Also, at least I know that I will be getting at least one layout done per month.

Red Oaks

It was so hot here today, that Amy and I decided to go to Red Oaks Waterpark. We kept cool and had a great time. They have 3 water slides, a lazy river, and a wave pool. It was so nice to not be hot! My shoulders are burnt and I have a nice white area where my sunglasses were on my face:) On Friday and Saturday nights we had some friends over. AC golfed 18 today. All in all it was a nice weekend. Oh, I almost forgot - Cupcake lost her baby teeth!

Vet Trip

2 Peas Challenge~ Do you have memory/yearbooks from your school days that you like to sit and look back and wonder what were we thinking? If ya get brave share one of your favorite school pics...

I do have yearbooks, but they are packed away somewhere. I don't have a favorite school picture, I think they were all horrible. This is my kindergarten picture, and I can't believe that my mom did this to me!!!

Anyway, I went to Frenchy's (my boss) funeral today. It was nice to see a lot of old friends. Frenchy was a great guy. He was funny, generous, and great to work for. I will miss him:)

I had to take my little Cupcake to the vet today. She has gotten her adult canine teeth in, but here baby canine teeth are still in also. She has not been eating hard food, so I thought I better get it checked out. Here are her teeth... As you can see she likes to chew:(

The vet said to keep an eye on the teeth and they should fall out in the next 10 days. If they do not fall out, he might pull them, but he was sure that they would fall out on their own. He also said that her back teeth are coming in and sore, so that is why she isn't wanting to eat the hard food. Here is one last photo for today. Tiger and Cupcake:

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July!

Not doing too much to celebrate today. Last night we had a surprise retirement party to attend. Here is a picture of my (husband's) family, from the party:

The retiree was surprised, so the party was a success. Wouldn't it be nice to be retired? At this age, I mean. Today we are just going to stay home and relax. I have homework to do and there is always something to clean around here. Hope you had a happy 4th.

What a weekend...

On Friday I picked up my sisters and they came to spend the night. On our way to my house, my father-in-law called to see where I was, and to tell me that a house in our sub was on fire!
I will admit that I began driving a bit faster trying to get home. I knew my husband was safe at work, but the cats!! I couldn't get in the sub the normal way, so I had to go around and thank God, it wasn't our house. This was the house, thankfully everyone got out safely.
On Saturday, I received news about my boss passing away. He had cancer. He was a great guy and will be forever missed.
On Sunday, I picked up my friend Amy and we went to Ikea! I love that place. They have so many fun things! I got a few more things for my scrapbook room and stuff for our spare bedroom. Can't go back for another 6 months, at least!
