My down town consisted of 4 short blocks.. one blinking light and one movie theater/community house/library.. new movies came out on Friday of each week.. a movie at 7 pm and 9pm.. Sometimes I would see a movie multiple times for something to do...we had a bowling alley with 7 lanes and one pool table... Jim ran the bowling alley and he messed around on his wife...gotta love a small town...my dad was a cop..we had a dairy queen, Al's restaurant, a Dime Store...not sure where the name came from everything was more than a dime...Brosak's hardware was on the corner across from the theater...people did not lock their house doors or their car...the road to the beach has a large hill going toward the water...I walked to school...I could tell you who lived in almost every house...Friday night football games were a common place to see everyone...two grocery stores..IGA and Spartan...one do-it-yourself car wash...Randolf's pizza, a family owned business with a small hotel attached...Ernosto's Pizza, and eventually a Little Caesar’s...Sandman's, which was like a 7-11.. two marina's, the old marina and the new marina...the cruise route was to turn around in the IGA parking lot and then drive to the beach and go thru the turn around there, over and over again...if you were trying your first cigarette with a girlfriend, way out at the end of the dock on a foggy morning, the catholic church basketball coach was going to see you and tell your dad.

CHA '08
On Friday I saw 27 Dresses. It was a cute movie. Typical plot, kind of like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days with the article and all. You will understand when you see it.
I organized my scrapbook room a little this weekend. I am trying to get my photos together with paper and embellishments, so I am ready to go to a crop. I am going to a 12 hour in March.
The 2Peas Challenge~ Is there something you have seen with CHA release previews that you can not wait to get your hands on.....
I really want this:
"Roller ball rub-on stylus • Rolling ball tip glides smoothly for a controlled application • Flat nylon paddle for setting the rub-on • High-quality design"
This also interests me: Bazzill Stitch'z
It is a mat, piercing tool, and a bunch of templates to 'sew' on your layouts. Since the sewing machine thing is not happening for me anytime soon. I thought why not try this.
I have already ordered both of these new releases! Can't wait to get them.

Happy Weekend!
Today's Challenge at 2Peas is ~ What are you scrapping plans for the weekend?
I really want to scrap this weekend. My plan is to finish my homework at work today (shhh) and spend Saturday and Sunday in my scrap room.
I am going to dinner and a movie with my friend Anita and a bunch of her friends. Excited to see 27 Dresses! AC comes home tonight. So glad he has weekends off and can be home. I watched Big Shots last night. So glad it was new, however I think it was the last new one for a while:( Will it ever be back?? I really hope so! Have a good weekend. Thanks for reading:)

Cashmere Mafia
The 2Peas challenge for today is: Are you making anything special for Valentine's Day? If so share it with us...
I am not planning on making anything for Valentine's Day. I won't be making much of anything, due to a large amount of homework. My Grandma got out of the hospital today and is feeling better. I really hope that the writers strike gets settled soon. Although, I really like Cashmere Mafia. It was so cold here today, around 20 degrees. That really isn't that cold for Michigan, but it sure felt cold. That's all for tonight. Have a good one.

Unfortunately the body of Denise Lee was found on Saturday.
I read this post on a message board that I frequent and I was hooked. I looked everyday for updates. I really believed that since the authorities knew so quickly who kidnapped her, that she would be found. It is a sad story.
The Challenge today on 2Peas is ~ How are you staying warm in this cold weather the country is having lately?
It is 25 degrees today and we have gotten 4 inches of snow early this morning. I stay warm by staying inside! I also broke out my new scarf.
My husband and I went out on a date last night. We went to one restaurant for dinner and another for dessert! We had a nice night. I have an exam to do this week and along with the normal homework load.
My Grandma is having her gallbladder removed this morning. Hopefully everything will go good and she will go home tomorrow.

Please pray for Denise Lee, a young wife and mother of 2. She was kidnapped this past Thursday in Florida. Her abductor was captured, but she is still missing.

Speed of Light
Is it me or do the weekends pass faster than the speed of light?
On Friday AC got home from work and we met some friends for dinner. After dinner we went back to their house and played Rock Band. For those of you that don't know what Rock Band is, let me explain... You have a base guitar, a guitar, a drum set, and a microphone. You put the game in the XBox 360 and select a song, and start rocking! I was playing the guitar and not very good at all. I sang once and wasn't good at that either. I need Rock Band practice. It was a fun night.
Wikipedia defines Rock Band...
Rock Band allows players to perform in virtual "bands" by providing up to four players with the ability to play three different peripherals modeled after music instruments (a guitar peripheral for lead guitar and bass guitar gameplay, a drum peripheral, and a microphone). These peripherals are used to simulate the playing of rock music by hitting scrolling notes on-screen. Players using the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles can interact through both online and offline multi-player capabilities.
On Saturday we stayed in and on Sunday I spent at least 5 hours on homework for one class! YIKES, I need to start doing more during the week, so last night I started this weeks homework. Two of the classes I am taking are Masters Classes, so they require a ton of work.

What does your name mean?
What Darcey Means |
You are powerful and competent, especially in the workplace. People can see you as stubborn and headstrong. You definitely have a dominant personality. You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality. You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something. You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense. You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun. You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily. You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind. A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable. You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone. You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together. At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together. You are a free spirit, and you resent anyone who tries to fence you in. You are unpredictable, adventurous, and always a little surprising. You may miss out by not settling down, but you're too busy having fun to care. |

I've been Tagged!
I was tagged by jp, so here goes...
1. Name your 2 favorite scrapbooking topics: Birthday and my Sisters
2. What are the 2 best places you've been to? Jamaica & Las Vegas
3. Name 2 things you do every day: Email and Check 2 Pea's
4. Tell us 2 things that pretty much everyone knows about you. I am very sarcastic & like to eat out verses cooking
5. 2 places you wish to visit: India and Australia
6. 2 things you may not know about me are: I do not speak to my mother and I love my in-laws
7. 2 nicknames you've had at some time in your life: "Duba" Apparently when I was little I would walk around and say that all the time and Red (my favorite color)
8. Name 2 of your favorite drinks: Long Island Ice Tea and Kiwi Strawberry Snapple (things that are ok in moderation, but overall not that good for you)
9. What are 2 interesting (in a good or bad way) jobs you have had in your life? In high school I had an after school job working in a wire factory, where I would build wire harnesses for automobiles - This job was good for me because it taught me that I did not want to ever work in a factory again. The other job was also in High School and I worked at the Detroit Edison Harbor Beach Power Plant - This job was great because I learned so many things that I still use today.
10. The Question I am adding is this... What are your top two fun things to do after work? Mine would be to scrapbook/go to crops and the other is shopping!
Notice a theme? :-) All of the questions have 2 in them. Answer the questions, add one question of your own (this tag started with 4 questions) and then tag 2 people. Simple enough?
I am going to tag TMTCO and Linda.
The Challenge on 2 Pea's today is ~ What is the greatest lesson you've learned so far in your life?
The greatest lesson I have learned is that tomorrow is not guaranteed. You have to appreciate what you have, because it may not be there forever.

Massage Monday
Today was the first day of winter semester. I must admit after reading the syllabuses for my classes, I am a little freaked out. Looks like a lot of work!
The weather in Michigan was crazy today. It was 60 degrees most of the day and now we have a tornado watch! AC gave me a gift certificate for a massage, so I went today after work. So relaxing. I went to Costco after and then came home. I really wish the writer's strike would get settled soon. I miss my shows, but maybe it is good, so that I will spend the time on my homework:) Tomorrow is sketch club at my favorite LSS.

Happy New Year!
with our friends Brad and Cynthia.
During dinner Aman started feeling sick, so he just wanted to go home for the night. He told me to go out, since he was going to bed.
I met Amit and rang in the new year at Mahoney's.
Hope everyone has a happy and healthy 2008!
I visited my Grandma in the hospital today and she may be going home tomorrow!
